The great thing about card play is that one can follow the general rule that if a card doesn't explicitly say something then one need not read questions in... having said all that I have a question. Wink

The Line Command card requires a leader to be part of the ordered line formation. During the execution of the card would the leader confer the benefit of striking on the Command die result to all units in the formation like it does the unit it's attached to?

I can't find on the card where it says they must be linked to a leader? The Line Command card I'm reading says:

'Issue an order to a block of foot units. The block must be formed from foot units that are all in adjacent linked hexes.'

Lemme double check the card title tonight and post back, I must have gotten it wrong... maybe it was line advance?

Sorry about that, Inspired [*] Leadership is the card I had the question on.

If I understand the leadership mechanic correctly, the benefit of an attached leader is given to the attached unit only under normal circumstances. The card(s) in question use language like "order *units* under one leaders command" and "leaders hex and X adjacent units". This seems to suggest that when the card is played the leader abilities are conferred to all the ordered units that turn, i.e., they all score strikes on a helmet die result.

Do I have that right?

Felix,
I've been playing & watching for about 2 months now and have not seen the card played that way yet . I think the card is stating 'under one leaders command' as those 'linked' to the leader. If you could move them away from the leader and still benefit from leader bonuses, that would make the card very powerful IMO. I could be wrong since I have not played that much, so hopefully someone else will chime in here and reaffirm us both.

For example, when you play the Inspired Leadership Center+4 card the leader is attached to one of the units in the series of four like this:

L
H H H H

The leader remains attached to the unit it started with and moves with it per usual along with the remaining three units. My question is which of the units benefits from the leaders ability to confer hits on a helmet symbol in CC - the one unit it is attached to or all four in this example?

Only those directly adjacent - in other words - the units in hexes next to the hex the leader is in. I don't believe the leader's command 'bleeds' through the unit it is next to and then into another unit beyond that hex.

Yes, Cavie,

We play it like that also. It seems right.

Good to hear - I thought maybe I was totally wrong or just the only one answering here. Thanks for the reassurance!
