Hi Mates
When a unit flees the table with the leader attached to it, is the leader gone as well? Or can he stop at the table edge?
thank you

We had this happen during a game and we ruled the leader lost. |

I would see the following sequence :
- The unit looses all its blocks due to being at the mapboard's edge and still having to retreat equal or more hexes than it has blocks remaining.
- The leader is now alone in the hex (and one rolls a leader casualty die)
- The leader (if not eliminated) must now evade offboard, and is not considered eliminated (see rulebook p. 15 : "• You may choose to Evade your leader off your side of the battlefield. This saves the leader from becoming a Victory Banner for your opponent, but you lose a strong command piece by doing so.")
So, IMO, the leader is not counted as a banner. |
